Formed in 1792, Burlington is situated in the Northeastern portion of Otsego County and is home to about 1140 people (2010 Census); The town covers 45 square miles.
Burlington is easy to reach from many directions, and is crisscrossed by State Highway 51 and State Route 80.

There will be a Public Hearing on Wednesday, September 10, at the
Burlington Municipal building, 6011 St. Hwy 51, Burlington Flats, NY 13315 at 6:30 pm followed by the regular Town Board meeting.
The Purpose of the Public Hearing is for resident input on the following:
1. Town Assessors: Currently a Board of Three, town is seeking input on going to Sole Assessor.
2. Transfer Station: Due to Termination of contract with the Town of Pittsfield for April 2015. The Town of Burlington is seeking residents input if the Town should continue to run a Transfer Station in Burlington or drop the Transfer Station completely.
Please plan on attending or send us your input on the above matters by the 10th, so the board knows which direction the town residents would like us to proceed in.
